Marge Rendell is a printmaker and photographer based in Chicago, IL and recent grad from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with her BFA. Through exploration of plastic and disposable materials, her interests lie in looking at the ideas of cheapness vs. luxury and real vs. fake. Attempting to make something disposable valuable through labor in print. She makes overly attractive, desirable, shiny objects and photographs that often steal from recognizable imagery. With a play between advertisement and fine art, her work critiques pop culture and consumerism- but its existence also inherently participates in it.
